Ringebu Folkehøgskule

We believe in learning by doing and wish to give our students, a solid base for further personal and professional development.

Ringebu Folkehøgskule is a well-maintained school in traditional surroundings. We have good workshops, dormitories and a professional staff. We are located in the center of Mid-Norway between Oslo and Trondheim and close to public transportation connecting us to cities and villages all across Norway. We cooperate with Kvitfjell ski resorts (which is located approximately 7 kilometers/4 miles away from the school) during World Cup (downhill and Super-G).

For further information, please contact the school.

PARK HAFJELL-KVITFJELL
Jibbing and snowboarding in the country's best parks in Kvitfjell and Hafjell, up to four times a week throughout the winter. We have the parks almost to ourselves, with plenty of space and opportunities to get better. We go where the snow is and the students decide where they want to go and what they want to do in Norway, for a week long trip.

At the end of the year we take a trip along with the Backcountry line and the Sports and Wilderness line in Jotunheimen for off-piste skiing and backcountry jumps.

Pre-season we train in our gym with our mega trampoline and trampet and also get outside to hit our summer set up practicing rail tricks.  During the fall we go downhill biking in Hafjell, white water river rafting, and visit Trondheim for climbing and boating.

The program includes a week of skiing in the French Alps, as well as a trip to Tenerife in Spain’s Canary Islands with the whole school and staff, for surfing, biking, and other activities in the spring,

A normal day in the winter is action packed and full of skiing or snowboarding. You wake up, eat breakfast, and head straight to the mountain. Once you’re back you can even ski in the school’s very own park. Currently we have 7+ rails that can be set up and you will have the opportunity to build more!

We work closely with Kvitfjell to help shape and design their park. Also students will have the opportunity train to become a teacher in Freestyle skiing.

BACKCOUNTRY SKIING and SNOWBOARDING KVITFJELL
Experience backcountry riding to the fullest! In this line you will learn what it’s like to ski the steep and deep and fully understand what it feels like to really earn your turns.

We hike in the beautiful mountains of Norway while we wait for the snow to come. We also train alongside the Park line, jumping on our mega trampoline and hitting our summer set up. The goal here is to take the tricks you learn into the backcountry! We also go White Water rafting, Downhill biking in Hafjell and visit Trondheim.

When the snow comes we take powder trips wherever the snow is, be that in a resort or by hiking up the mountain with or without skins. You will learn almost everything there is to know about backcountry skiing, from Avalanche safety to building backcountry jumps. In the fall students will also have the opportunity to receive their climbing license.

The program is student driven so you will be able to decide where you want to go for a week long ski trip in Norway. The program also includes a week of skiing in the French Alps, as well as a trip to Tenerife with the whole school and staff for surfing, biking and other activities in the spring.
